Hey y’all, I’m chef Amanda.

I’m an intuitive chef who learned by assisting my Grandmother, Aunties and many a friend’s Mama since I was a girl. After skipping classes, as a University of Georgia African American Studies major to make our campus meat sale, I was led by curiosity and Anthony Bourdain to Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, NC. I now combine my love of high end dining, Southwest Georgia traditions, and the culture of the Black American Diaspora to guide my guests on a delicious exploration of the very fabric of American food culture and the Southern foodways as I have lived them.


My Approach

I approach food and dining from the perspective that culture is the literal manifestation of human connection. Our recipes, dishes, and cuisines can be the penultimate vessels for storytelling, memory creation, and familial connections. My style of cooking is derived from the teachings of my elders and classic culinary school methodology. A consummate professional, I value flawless execution through proper planning for outstanding client collaborations.

A long time industry professional and graduate of Johnson & Wales University, I am renowned for my level of execution and understanding of culinary logistics. It’s my full intention that we have the event of your dreams, and it’s my pleasure to fulfill that.

Storytelling

By intentionally understanding the history and foodways of the Americas, I am able to weave relatable concepts together to create recipes, menus, or digital content to express your theme or brand message that will turn your guests into ambassadors.

Ancestral Honor

The honor of being trusted to continuously feed others is a responsibility I carry with great care. To feed others is a space of trust and intimacy that typically is reserved for those matriarchs held in high regard. Every time I’m chosen, it’s an honor I understand has been gifted.
